Banana Boat approached Hillcrest to help them to put together a range of gift with purchase products and summer giveaways that would accurately represent their brand while being functional and fun for family days in the sun.

We wanted to ensure the products provided were suitable to include in the family beach bag alongside their Banana Boat sunscreen so we put together a pack inclusive of a towel, drink bottle, Frisbee, rugby ball, umbrella hat and blow up beach ball.

Kirstie from Hillcrest has and continues to be great to work with. It is a great help when we receive prompt responses when searching for the ideal promotional item. She is great at planning our requirements in advance and responding to our last minute requests with fast turn-around times. Chevron NZ

Chevron NZ wanted an exciting novel gift for their Oil distributors and their clients who purchased Delo Oil products. The brief we received was to have good branding awareness a mechanical item that was fun and a gift that related to their industry.

So we developed a Remote control truck with multi functions, lights and sounds and a high calibre paint finish that made the branding stand out and have the wow factor when presented in the designed packaging. The truck was an instant hit with their clients and reinforced Delos strong presence in the oil industry.

Laser Group

Laser Group came to us over 5years ago wanting to freshen up their uniform and promotional ranges and create an easy-use ordering system for each of their members, Plumbing and Electrical.

We introduced them to The Stockroom which is a customised online ordering website we use for our clients who have their merchandise ranges set up with us. It was the perfect fit for what they were looking for; ease of use, unique log ins for members and tools for reporting each month. The Stockroom is customised with their logo and has all of their standard uniform, promotional products and client gifts loaded up and ready for ordering. This system works incredibly well and has proven to be a great success over the last few years with over 1500 orders placed on The Stockroom since the launch date.


Custom merchandise created for Selaks

Selaks New Zealand Roast Day began in 2010 when Selaks decided to dedicate a day in honour of the humble New Zealand Roast. Of course they needed to a merchandise range to compliment that and that’s where Hillcrest comes in.

Sophie worked with Constellation Brands to develop a range that could be used in a number of different mediums, from PR releases to Facebook promotions the NZSRD merchandise was a hit.

This year we had a number of components all to be in keeping with the class of the Selaks brand. The custom PVC USB carving knife doubled as an information distribution channel with the tea towel being used for cleaning up and a kitchen art piece. We made sure the tote bag fit the part by custom making the side panels with wine bottle sleeves, easily supporting 4 bottles of wine!

Touch North Harbour

Hillcrest were approached by Touch North Harbour in 2012 as they were looking for a consistent and reliable supplier. Hillcrest covers all bases for Touch North Harbour which is key for an organisation which is predominantly run by volunteers. Each year a new design is created, samples are run then produced, ordered, packed and delivered.

The range is extensive, kitting out their representative players and supporters with t-shirts, playing caps, training t-shirts, bags, drink bottles, bucket hats, college style jackets, hoodies and more. These items are an integral part of the Touch North Harbour brand, promoting the association and helping them look great both on and off the field.


Custom merchandise created for Unitec

This project incorporated multiple items pulled together to form a presentation for Unitec to award to their Partner School Scholars. We wanted to do something out of the norm so the question was put to us, what says congratulations without handing over something traditional such as a plaque, trophy or certificate which would end up in the bin or at the back of the cupboard?

So we thought big:

  • Converse shoes customised with each students initals
  • Converse box branded, in keeping with the branding already present
  • Socks with Unitec “U” embroidered onto them
  • Printed shoe laces
  • Watches branded with #success, the campaign hashtag
  • An invite printed with partner school names, the high school the student attended highlighted and the recipients name printed on the front
  • And the finishing touch… a full colour sleeve cut and sewn to each box size with the student's name and high school on it

With a tight timeframe and so much variable data it was a challenging but rewarding project. We were pretty stoked with how it turned out, but check out what the client had to say.

I approached Sophie from Hillcrest Promotions to work with our team on a presentation piece for High School graduates who had won a scholarship to Unitec.

The brief I gave was we needed WOW factor, personalisation and something that our students would want and use. One of the things that impressed me about working with Sophie on this project was her ability to understand our end goal and relate to our students.

I knew we'd hit the ball out of the park when not only were the students blown away but other tertiary providers wanted to replicate the project.
